West Indian cricketer and Peshawar Zalmi skipper Darren Sammy tweeted on Sunday that he is “truly honoured” to be given Nishan-e-Pakistan — the nation’s most elevated civil award.
He additionally expressed gratitude toward Pakistan for the “love that you have shown us”, including that “they [the foreign players] just needed Pakistanis to “experience cricket at home”.
Prior, the Pakistan Cricket Board had declared in a tweet on Saturday that Sammy will be given Nishan-e-Pakistan and privileged citizenship on March 23 for his “invaluable contribution to Pakistani cricket”.
Sammy is as of now in Pakistan to take part in the Pakistan Super League 2020, where he is driving Peshawar Zalmi.
