Azam Khan’s Knock Helped Gladiators Dominate Karachi Kings

Quetta Gladiators won their fixtrue against Karachi Kings in Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2020 by five wickets at National Stadium, Karachi on Sunday. The protecting PSL champions pursued the immaterial target of 157 runs in 19 overs, with five wickets to spare.

Azam Khan stood apart with his amazing 46-run thump, during which he struck four boundaries and two sixes. Imad Wasim and Chris Jordan both picked one wicket each.

Gladiators’ running aptitudes went under the spotlight as three of their batsmen, including Shane Watson (27), Azam and Jason Roy (17), were run-out.

Watson’s wicket was an early misfortune for the defending champions. They were by all accounts headed towards an emergency when they lost Roy and Ahmed Shehzad (11) one after another.

The team balanced out after Gladiators captain Sarfaraz joined Azam on the crease.The Kings wrapped up their innings at 156 at the loss of nine wickets. Gladiators kept up a high ground by limiting runs and getting brisk wickets.

Mohammad Hasnain took three wickets for 33 in his four overs. With 29 runs of 27 balls, Alex Hales was Kings’ most elevated scorer. Babar Azam helped the group put early runs on the scoreboard before being bowled out at 26. Sharjeel Khan was sent back to the pavilion for only six runs.

CS Delport (22) tumbled to Sohail Khan in the tenth over, while Hales was removed by Hasnain in the fourteenth over. Karachi Kings captain Imad Wasim (8) was run out by Gladiators’ skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed in the seventeenth over.

Hasnain had before disposed of Chadwick Walton, who just scored one run.

Prior, the Karachi Kings won the coin toss and picked to bat first.

The Kings dominated their first game of the fifth release of PSL in the wake of crushing Peshawar Zalmi by 10 runs on Friday.

The Gladiators made sure about their first win in the opening match of PSL 2020 against Islamabad United. On Saturday, be that as it may, they were vanquished by Zalmi by six wickets.
