Railway Ministry Face Huge Losses In Train Accidents

LAHORE – Railway Ministry Face Huge Losses In Train Accidents. Pakistan Railways has faced around Rs. 410 million losses in train accidents between 2018 to 2019. These accidents are from every part of the railway network in the country.

According to details, an official in the railways ministry told media about this. The losses are the damages in signal, rolling stock, locomotive, and electrical. On the other hand, the casualties and injured persons during the year are at 110 and 123 respectively.

He added that the ministry was taking several measures to prevent accidents in future. This includes up-gradation of 550 vulnerable unmanned level crossings throughout Pakistan Railways network. It would be done in collaboration with the respective provincial governments.

He further said the Directorate of Public Relations has circulated different video messages over social media. It was for the awareness and information of general public regarding crossing the railway crossings in a safe way. Railway Ministry Face Huge Losses In Train Accidents.

Furthermore, the official said that Pakistan Railways is going to revamp and upgrade the existing railway infrastructure. This will be through Main Line-I (ML1) project as a part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). It would transform the overall organisation and ensure safety of passengers. The official also said the conversion of old age kerosene oil based signals with LED’s on main line.
