ISLAMABAD – ML-1 Project To Be Completed In Two Years. Minister for Railways, Sheikh Rashid, on Wednesday, said that ML-1 project is important for the uplift of Pakistan Railways.
According to details, Sheikh Rasheed was talking to media along with Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar. Sheikh Rashid said ML-1 project would provide immense job opportunities to youth acting as the nerve centre of railway.
He said that Railways Ministry had asked the top court that it would complete the project in five years. However, the court ordered to complete it in two years. “We would tell the Chinese consortium that the court had given us the order. Hundred of thousands people would work on the project out of which 95% would be Pakistanis,” he added. ML-1 Project To Be Completed In Two Years.
Moreover, he said the apex court had also given the order to have Karachi Circular Railway (KCR) operationalised within three months. “We are working with the Sindh government to clear the five kilometers thickly populated area of KCR route. The court had allowed us that we could take help from the Rangers in addition to the police for the clearance of the tracks,” he added. He said that his ministry had also submitted a business plan of Pakistan Railways before the Supreme Court.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar said the ML-1 project of Pakistan Railways would be presented before the Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC) of CPEC meeting to be held in April.
