DOHA – Foreign Minister To Represent Pakistan On Afghan Peace Deal Signing. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, tomorrow will be attending the signing ceremony of the Afghan peace deal in Doha, Qatar. 

According to details, special assistant to PM on Information and Broadcast Firdous Ashiq Awan announced this via Twitter on Friday. She announced that the Foreign Minister will be representing Pakistan in Doha tomorrow.

She further said that foreign ministers from seven other countries along with Amir of Qatar will also attend the ceremony. Representatives from 50 countries will also be present in the ceremony, the SAPM added. Foreign Minister To Represent Pakistan On Afghan Peace Deal Signing

On Tuesday, Qatar’s ambassador extended the invitation to FM to attend the Peace Deal signing ceremony on February 29 in Doha. Furthermore, the minister said Pakistan and Qatar have played a pivotal role in furthering the Afghan reconciliation process.

Last week, both United States and Taliban announced to sign a historic agreement on 29th Febraury in Doha. The peace deal, if signed, will mark a historic step after 19 years of conflict in Afghanistan. The longest ever in US history. The agreement could represent a chance for peace and pullout thousands of US troops that have been there since 2001.
