ISLAMABAD – Coronavirus will not affect Economic Cooperation with Pakistan. Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing has said that the Coronavirus outbreak would not affect economic cooperation with Pakistan.

Yao Jing has said that Chinese people are thankful to the Pakistani government and people. For showing solidarity in difficult times while China is battling Coronavirus. Which provide us strength and more confidence. He was addressing a seminar in Islamabad.

He said Belt and Road Initiative has provided credible and tangible benefits to the beneficiary’s countries. CPEC is one of its most successful examples, the Radio Pakistan reported. The Chinese envoy said after six years of successful implementation of CPEC under the umbrella of Belt and Road Initiative, it has now established that CPEC and other corridors under BRI are projects of international cooperation, while 126 countries joined these projects.

The Chinese Ambassador said he is looking CPEC in the context of historic China and Pakistan relations, where CPEC has provided new focus and new opportunities on economic front. Chairman CPEC Authority Gen, rtd Asim Saleem Bajwa also said yesterday about the second phase of CPEC.

The viral outbreak originated in Wuhan, central China late last year. It has now infected at least 31,000 people and caused 636 deaths, mostly within China. Local governments across China have locked down cities of tens of millions of people in response to the crisis. Meanwhile, global panic has risen over the more than 240 cases that have emerged in two dozen countries.
