ISLAMABAD – Pak-Afghan Boarder Open For Trade. Government of Pakistan, on Friday, has opened the Pak-Afghan border for trade on humanitarian considerations. This comes after the special request from the Afghanistan government.

According to details, 100 containers and trucks will go to Afghanistan from Pakistan after custom clearance by the Pakistani authorities. However, no truck or person from Afghanistan can enter Pakistan. Pakistan foreign office announced this in a statement. Responding to Afghanistan Government’s special request, and based on humanitarian considerations, Pakistan will allow trucks to move between Pak-Afghan boarders.

This movement will be through Torkham and Chaman border crossing points thrice a week. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 April 2020 onwards. Meanwhile, as a neighbour, Pakistan remains in abiding solidarity with the people of Afghanistan. Specially at this time of the global pandemic.

According to security sources, the Pak-Afghan Chaman border will be open for trade for three days in a week. Meanwhile, the containers will depart after customs clearance. On April 2, Pakistan shut down the border for all kinds of traffic in the wake of the potential rise in cases of the Coronavirus.
