SRINAGAR – Land Transfers In Kashmir Valley To Non-Local Employees. The Indian authorities, on Thursday, have accorded sanction to the transfer of 40 kanal of land of IOK for establishment of colonies for non-local employees. This clearly violates the internationally contentious status of Jammu and Kashmir.

According to details, Kashmir media service reported about this. The Administrative Council of Kashmir has given the controversial sanctions. The council meets under the chairmanship of Lieutenant Governor, G C Murmu.

The transfer of the land is to the Department of Disaster Management. It is for relief, rehabilitation, and reconstruction under in the name of Prime Minister Modi’s relief package. The said land is in Deegam village in Shopian district of IOK. The Council also transferred Shamilat (Kahcharai) land measuring 40 kanal in village Drugmulla in Kupwara district to the School Education Department for establishing Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kupwara.

Tensions have been high along the line of control since last year. This was when Modi government revoked article 370 and 35-A of the Indian constitution. Thus abolishing the special status of India’s only Muslim majority state. New Delhi also bifurcated the state into two Union Territories.
