ISLAMABAD – Islamabad High Court Restores PMDC. The Islamabad High Court (IHC), on Tuesday, declared the dissolution of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) as null and void. Thus restoring PMDC while reinstating all its employees.

According to reports by local media, the high court has ordered that employees of the council be reinstated. Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani heard the case. Declaring Pakistan Medial Commission (PMC) illegal, the High Court has also ordered its dissolution.

President Dr Arif Alvi dissolved PMDC through a Presidential Order in October. The President then approved a new organisation called Pakistan Medical Council. PMC is a nine-member body with a president as its head. Islamabad High Court Restores PMDC.

Following the promulgation, the registrar of PMDC, Brig (retd) Dr Hafizud Din and 31 other employees challenged the presidential order. Their petition said that Presidential order terminated PMDC employees without giving them a proper hearing.’
