ISLAMABAD – India Annoyed As Dr Mirza Attended SAARC Video Conference. India took offence yet again as PM Imran Khan sent SAPM Dr Zafar Mirza to attend South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) video conference.
According to details, following the meeting of SAARC on the novel coronavirus, India showed its annoyance. It was over SAPM Dr Zafar Mirza attending the conference and not the Pakistani PM himself.
Indian PM Narendra Modi suggested and hosted the video conference. Bangladeshi PM Sheikh Hasina, Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, and Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih attended. Along with Nepal’s PM Sharma Oli, Bhutan’s PM Lotay Tshering and Afghan President Ashraf Ghani. However, Dr Mirza represented Pakistan in the conference instead of PM Imran Khan.
India also took offence that Dr Mirza raised the Kashmir issue at the video conference. During his address, the SAPM urged India to lift the lockdown in Indian-occupied Kashmir which has been in place since August. India Annoyed As Dr Mirza Attended SAARC Video Conference.
“It is a matter of concern that COVID-19 has been report from Jammu and Kashmir. In view of a health emergency, it is imperative that all lockdown in the territory must be lifted immediately,” the SAPM said.
