ISLAMABAD – Govt To Ballot Hajj Scheme Tomorrow. The Ministry of Religious Affairs, on Thursday, will conduct balloting to pick 90,000 intending pilgrims for Hajj this year under government hajj scheme.

According to details, Federal Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sahibzada Noor-ul-Haq Qadri would conduct the balloting.

People have submitted a total of 149,330 applications for performing hajj under government scheme. The government Hajj package is Rs 463,445 for the north region and Rs 486,270 for the south region. These are the price tags without Qurbani. On the other hand, Rs 486,270 and Rs 478,520 for north and south regions respectively with Qurbani.

Total 179,210 Pakistanis will perform hajj this year including 107,526 under government scheme and 71,684 under private scheme. The collection of applications started from 25th February till March 6. The ministry had earlier announced the date from February 24 to March 3. Last month, the cabinet approved Hajj Policy-2020, under which 179,210 pilgrims would perform Hajj this year. 60 percent pilgrims would perform Hajj through government scheme while 40 percent under Private Hajj Tour Operators.

The ministry said the Hajj package through government scheme would be Rs490,000 for intending pilgrims from northern region and Rs480,000 from southern region of the country.
