TOKYO – G7 Pledges To Secure Global Economy Amidst Coronavirus. G7 finance officials, on Tuesday, said they would take all possible steps to safeguard the global economy from the spreading coronavirus outbreak.

According to details, the finance ministers and central bank governors had a conference call. They pledged actions against the spread of coronavirus including fiscal measures. Japanese Finance Minister Taro Aso said that these measures will be where appropriate to support the global economy.

Global stocks suffered a down last week on fears of disruption to supply chains, factory output and global travel. All of which has been caused by the coronavirus epidemic. It could really impact a world economy trying to recover from the U.S.-China trade war. The coronavirus, emerged in Chinese city of Wuhan last year, has spread fast around the world over the past week. More new cases now appearing outside China than within.

The most serious outbreak outside China is in South Korea. Prime Minister Moon Jae-in declared war on the virus, ordering additional hospital beds and more masks. Meanwhile, Iran reported infections rising to 1,501, with 66 deaths, including a senior official.

On the other side, death toll in Italy jumped to 52 on Monday from 34 the day before. Therefore, the total number of virus cases in Italy are beyond the 2,000 mark. Meanwhile, Germany reported 31 new infections, taking its tally to 188.
