Dense Fog Covers Most of the Country

LAHORE – With the Winter season in its full swing, fog has also been covering the country in its length and width. Dense fog covers most of the country.

According to the Metrological Department, dense fog covered parts of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK). It disrupted routine life and road traffic. Weather reports show dense fog is likely to prevail in Islamabad and most plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh. While in few districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the morning and night hours will also feel the affect.

According to a spokesperson of the Motorways Authorities, different Motorway sections of M5 are closed. M1 motorway is also closed due to dense fog and low visibility.

Except motorways, national highways are also affected badly due to the dense fog. The thick fog has also badly affected the road traffic flow in several cities of the Punjab province. Highways and Motorways police have advised the drivers to switch on fog lights while driving. Advice is also to drive at very slow speed and also requested the people to stay home and avoid unnecessary travelling. Dense fog covers most of the country.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather is expected all around in the country while areas on high altitudes are experiencing extremely cold weather. The lowest temperature was in Skardu at -17 degrees.
