NEW DELHI – Deadly Clashes In Delhi Over CAA Amidst Trump Visit. At least 8 killed and more than 90 injured during the deadly clashes in Delhi over Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). The protests broke out on Monday and still continue even during Trump’s visit.
The clashes have turned even more violent as US President Donald Trump visits Delhi. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump are set to meet for talks today at a venue located a few miles away from where the clashes occurred.
Hundreds of people supporting the CAA clashed with those opposing it. The two groups have been clashing since Sunday. The demonstrators set multiple vehicles set on fire as supporters of the new law clashed with opponents.
A video surfaced on social media shows a group of people lying injured on the ground, some of them singing the Indian National Anthem. The Indian security forces are recording them and beating the injured people.
