Karachi – Coronavirus Cases Reported In Karachi. After creating havoc in China and many other regions of the world, coronavirus is now making its way to Pakistan. Two confirmed cases of coronavirus have surfaced in Karachi, media reported on Wednesday.

One of the victims is 22-year-old Yahya Jaffery. The victim had arrived from Iran via aeroplane with his family on February 20. He is in a private hospital for treatment while his family is also under surveillance.

Meanwhile, DG Health Sindh Dr Mobin denied emergence of any such cases. He also said that the victim is in isolation over suspicion of coronavirus. Iran has as the highest number of deaths from coronavirus outside China, where the virus emerged late last year.

The coronavirus outbreak has claimed several lives as scientists struggle to develop a vaccine to cure the disease. The number of deaths compared to the number of infections is higher in Iran than in any other country, including China and South Korea where the outbreak is far more widespread.

In view of the situation, most of the neighbouring countries including Pakistan, Turkey and Armenia have also closed their borders with Iran
