Behold the uprising. Since its passing in the Parliament of India, the Citizenship Amendment Act or CAA has been a major political talking point, locally and globally. The approval of the bill has seen major disruptions in the situation of law and order in the capital city of Delhi, where extremist Hindu mobs have lynched Muslim citizens brutally, and retaliatory attacks have been made by Muslim groups.
The Citizenship Amendment Act has very sensually sparked an inter-religion debate, where the two majorly existing groups are divided on the either side of ideology.
The blame game has picked up momentum and unfortunately has ignited some up-scaled clashes too, fatal in some cases. Reported by the Delhi Police, 38 people have succumbed to their injuries while countless others still endure the pain.
The whole paradigm shift in the generally peaceful state has inevitably drawn attention, and dissent from international media where video clips have been shown of mobs climbing minar of a mosque to disintegrate the structure.
The impact, economically has been significant, due to disruption of the world’s largest consumer market and hopes are high that the situation dials down in intensity in the coming weeks.
