While Storm Ciara caused many flights and train schedules to cancel, it allowed British Airways to record the quickest ever trip between New York and London — because of tailwinds from the storm. As per flight-following site Flightradar24, the  British Airways aircraft finished the transoceanic crossing in only 4 hours 56 minutes. The quickest till date.

Wind speeds of up-to 130 Km/h were recorded along the coast by Meteo-France.

Belgium too was on orange alert and around 50 flights to and from Brussels were delayed. In the capital, trees and platform were toppled and a few structures harmed yet there were no wounds.

Multiple airports in Germany had to cancel flights due to the storm. Around 240 flights to and from Amsterdam Schiphol, the third-busiest air terminal in Europe, were also cancelled.

Considering the storm, broad strips of northern France were put on orange alarm and 130,000 homes had power cut off in the midst of fears of coastal storm floods. According to the fire and rescue department, trees and electricity poles were blown over and roofs ripped off homes.
