WASHINGTON – US-China Trade Deal Under Implementation? Chinese ambassador to United States, Cui Tiankai, on Sunday spoke about the US-China trade relations. He said that China is still implementing the first phase of a Sino-US trade deal. Further adding that he hoped that the two could work together to assess the changing situation and coordinate their response.

According to the Global Times, US and China signed the said deal to halt a damaging tarrifs war in January. This was before the coronavirus pandemic spread, threatening a global economic depression.

Ambassador Cui Tiankai said that China is still buying US agricultural products. And is lifting some curbs faced by foreign companies entering its financial market. He said we also hope that the economic teams of the two countries can sit together or hold video conferences to assess the changing situation and coordinate our response.

The virus, which has infected 1.6 million people and killed 106,000 in 214 countries, originated in China’s central city of Wuhan late last year. US-China Trade Deal Under Implementation?
