SRINAGAR – Kashmir To Shut Down For Maqbool Bhat’s Anniversary. Indian Occupied Kashmir will be under shut down. Today marks the 36th martyrdom anniversary of Kashmiri liberation leader Maqbool Bhat.

According to details, call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Chairman, Syed Ali Gilani. Meanwhile, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq of Hurriyat forum and the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front also joined. Indian government had hanged Muhammad Maqbool Bhat in New Delhi’s Tihar Jail on 11th February, 1984.

Indian authorities imposed strict restrictions in the territory in the name of security to prevent anti-India protests in connection with the martyrdom anniversary of Maqbool Bhat. Normal life continues to remain affected in the occupied Valley. Military lockdown and gag on internet has been going on since 191 consecutive days. In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that struggle and sacrifices of martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Bhat are beacon light for every oppressed and occupied nation.

Organisations in Kashmir will organise protest programmes to commemorate Maqbool Bhat’s martyrdom day.
