ISLAMABAD – FM Qureshi Invited To Attend Afghanistan Peace Deal Signing. Qatar’s ambassador to Pakistan Saqr bin Mubarak Al-Mansouri invited Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi to attend the signing ceremony of the peace deal between United States and Afghan Taliban.
According to details, Qatari ambassador called on foreign minister on Tuesday at the foreign office. The ambassador extended the invitation to FM to attend the Peace Deal signing ceremony on February 29 in Doha. Furthermore, the minister said Pakistan and Qatar have played a pivotal role in furthering the Afghan reconciliation process.

Last week, both United States and Taliban announced to sign a historic agreement on 29th Febraury in Doha. The peace deal, if signed, will mark a historic step after 19 years of conflict in Afghanistan. The longest ever in US history. The agreement could represent a chance for peace and a pullout of thousands of US troops that have been in the country since 2001.
