ISLAMABAD – Debt Relief Important For Both Developing And Developed Countries. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on Thursday, has said that both developing and developed countries will face the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic.
According to details, the foreign minister was addressing a press briefing in Islamabad. He said that the economic crisis that the developing countries are passing through will eventually affect the whole world. Eventually, both developing and the developed countries will face the impacts of the pandemic.
Qureshi also informed about the debt relief proposal that government is working on. He said it will be beneficial for the whole world. Adding that the UN Chief is also in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s appeal, which is a welcoming sign.
He said the decision by G-20 countries to give debt relief to developing countries will have substantial impact on Pakistan. It will allow the country the much needed fiscal space to manage its economy. As well as to focus on the downtrodden against the backdrop of COVID-19.
Shah Mehmood further said that in view of the global health crisis, all countries should work collectively to contain the outbreak.
