23 Policemen Quarantined In Haripur

HARIPUR: At least 23 policemen, including a DSP, were isolated in Haripur on Tuesday according to the officials.The sources said the police officers were isolated for staying in direct contact with the travelers going to Abbottabad and Mansehra regions while coming back from Iran.

Police and health division sources said the isolated police officers included a DSP, a SHO and ASIs, who accompanied the transports taking the returning travelers on the Hazara Motorway.

Since the police officers stayed in direct contact with the travelers, the district’s administration and the health specialists had as a prudent step moved every one of them to the Government Girls Degree College, Tarnava, where a group of medical specialists examined them.

According to the Police and Health departments, none of the 23 Policemen showed any symptoms of the novel coronavirus. However, they will be kept under observation and quarantined until a proper screening is done. The screening is expected on Wednesday.

A quick response team of Khanpur tehsil headquarters hospital would carryout regular checks-up of all the quarantined policemen. The check-ups would be on a daily basis. If any of them was found carrying symptoms of coronavirus he would be shifted to an isolation ward of type-D hospital in Dingi, as per the report by sources.
