ISLAMABAD – PM Khan Welcomes Global Debt Relief Efforts By G20. Prime Minister Imran Khan, on Thursday, appreciated the debt relief measures taken by the world community. This includes the G20 countries, International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. The debt relief is for the developing countries including Pakistan.

According to details, a PM Office press release said that the prime minister said this in a meeting with his Finance Advisor. The finance advisor informed the prime minister about the planned approval of an additional $ 1.4 billion concessionary financing.

IMF has given this loan to deal with economic impact of coronavirus. He also updated the prime minister about the progress on various components of Economic Stimulus Package announced by the government.

The economic crisis that the developing countries are passing through will eventually affect the whole world. Eventually, both developing and the developed countries will face the impacts of the pandemic.

Earlier this week, foreign minister also said that the decision by G-20 countries to give debt relief to developing countries will have substantial impact on Pakistan. It will allow the country the much needed fiscal space to manage its economy. As well as to focus on the downtrodden against the backdrop of COVID-19.
