TOKYO – Tokyo 2020 Olympics Postponed For A Year. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Japanese Primer Shinzo Abe, on Tuesday, announced to postpone Tokyo 2020 Olympics. The event will be in the summer of 2021.

According to details, PM Shinzo Abe and IOC president Thomas Bach discussed this over phone. Following the call, Abe announced that the July 24 to August 9 event will happen in the summer of 2021 at the latest, as proof of victory over the coronavirus.

All businesses and routine life in more than 192 countries is under effect with the outbreak of coronavirus. Most countries also opted to go into a lockdown stage to contain the spread of virus.

Earlier this week, there were growing calls from world-wide to postpone the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. US President Donald Trump, on Monday, said the United States would follow Japan’s decision regarding the mega event.
