Police representative Henning Hinn affirmed that Monday’s accident was intentional, including: “There were several dozen injured, among them some seriously and sadly also children.”

He didn’t give further insights concerning a potential thought process.

Frankfurt police boss Gerhard Bereswill was cited as saying by local media that 30 individuals were harmed, seven of whom were in critical condition.

The episode occurred on the south side of Volkmarsen, outside a supermarket.

An amatuer video film indicated a silver Mercedes station wagon with local license plate and its danger lights flickering on the asphalt while emergency crews strolled by.

The carnival is well known in parts of Germany, particularly in Rhineland urban areas, for example, Cologne and Duesseldorf, where celebrations crested on “Rose Monday” (February 24) with several thousands going to road marches comical or satirical floats.

All carnival fair processions over the state were dropped as a precautionary measure.

Be that as it may, state police said they not have any sign of a danger anyplace else in Germany right now.
