Spain is Europe’s second-most virus-struck nation behind Italy, with the loss of life – after authorities declared a further 769 fatalities on Friday – reaching 5,000. In excess of 64,000 individuals have tested positive for the infection.

“Among the measures taken, it’s important those related with the work environment are roused by the need to adjust the legally binding commitments of the club staff to the new and temporary circumstances that we are encountering,” FCB said in an announcement.

“It is a decrease of the working day, forced by the conditions and the protection measures carried out, and, as a result, the relative decrease of the compensation accommodated in the particular agreements.”

“It’s just a circumstance of this scale that you can begin to envision any football club telling their star athlete they are implementing a pay cut. In any case, the conditions have been overpowering to the point that there appears to be a certainty to such a move.

“La Liga clubs have ventured up their support to the community, including making facilities accessible to local health divisions and reaching and helping supporters beyond 80 years old.”
